The Palette, a condominium in Pasir Ris, celebrated Deepavali virtually over Zoom, with residents meeting their MP Desmond Tan on 28 Nov 2021. A highlight of that day was the display made by residents, who collected and weaved used newspaper, magazine and packaging materials into a 3m-by-3m collage with a lighted diya image as the centrepiece.

Largest Bottle Cap Mural

Science Centre Singapore broke the bottle cap mural record on 27 Nov 2021 with the display, CAPtivate. Made up of 18,000 bottle caps and pasted by visitors to the centre, the 14m-by-2m mural was led by its artist-in-residence Edmund Chen as part of the ‘Untame’ learning festival, which aimed to promote environmental awareness.

Extreme distance walker Raymond Tan completed 1,000 km in 12 days, 21 hr 21 min, from 30 Oct to 11 Nov 2021. He averaged 83.3 km walking for about 17 hr in each of the 12 days in the Ang Mo Kio area. His feat helped to raise funds for the Assisi Hospice.
