Shrivaths Balguri, a Pr 5 boy from Bukit View Primary School, wrote 725 digits of pi without a single error on the blank forms given to him. At Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA)’s Start Small Dream Big Appreciation Ceremony on 14 Sep 2019, 1,376 participants comprising ECDA staff, special guests, parents, teachers and preschoolers played handmade shakers together. The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and the Singapore Science Centre organised a two-day science carnival at Fusionopolis from 13-14 Sep 2019. Among the many experiments that the public could have their hands on was the slime-making activity. A Tea Journal – organised by Temenggong Artists-In-Residence was a series of tea activities starting with a Nanyang Tea Challenge, the opening exhibition of Singaporean artist Kim Whye Kee which featured teaware made mainly from Singapore clay and Stories of Tea exhibition which presented a variety of antique teawares through the various Chinese dynasties. Largest Lantern Wall

Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital is a 108-year-old charitable healthcare organisation, committed to looking after the sick and needy. It celebrated the lantern festival on 7 Sep 2019 by hanging strings of paper lanterns along the corridor of one of its conserved buildings. Excluding the space taken up by the pillars, the lantern wall was 28.5m long and 1.9m high. The lanterns were painted by the hospital’s residents and volunteers.  Read More »

Vrindavan Fashion & Arts runs an e-commerce business specialising in women’s fashion. On 7 Sep 2019, it conducted an art session at the Garden House, Jurong Lake Gardens. Participants of all ages painted on diyas, or traditional clay oil lamps. At the end of the session, 200 beautifully handpainted clay lamps were displayed to mark the Singapore Bicentennial.
