At Sengkang Riverside Park, about 5,000 residents of Ang Mo Kio GRC and Sengkang West SMC did a 2016 New Year countdown with PM Lee. Before that, they used 1,600 lightsticks to complete a formation of the word ‘Love’. At the New Year’s Eve celebration near to Hougang Interchange on 31 Dec 2015, everyone who came was given battery-operated LED lights to be strapped on the fingers. 408 people stood together to form the number ‘2016’.
