Most Number Of People Reading Tamil Books Together

Reading is the best way to develop proficiency in a language. Potong Pasir IAEC managed to gather 407 people in its hall on 22 Jul 2023 to read Tamil books together. Several schools arranged for their students to join in the event. Most participants brought down their own books but National Library also provided many books for the mass reading.

Largest Display & Burning Of Deities’ Paper Robes

To celebrate the birthday of Lorong Koo Chye Sheng Hong Temple’s Lord Qingxi Xianyou, devotees bought a total of 3,013 paper robes for the deities by 23 Jul 2023, to repay for blessings received. They were displayed in a makeshift tent and be arranged for burning later. This beat their previous record of 2,120 robes in 2021.

Largest Tape Art

Bukit Batok East volunteers came down on several weekends to cut and paste pieces of colourful adhesive tapes to create a mural featuring the home of a bygone generation. Largest Potluck Gathering

Residents of Teban Gardens gathered for potluck frequently. In 2017, they had a record 238 dishes. On 22 Jul 2023, they broke the record bringing down 324 dishes to share with fellow residents in celebration of racial harmony. There were 175 Chinese, 64 Indian, 61 halal and 24 other dishes.
