The Chiam See Tong Sports Foundation was launched in Mar 2017, and organised its second fundraiser ‘Splash for Singapore’ on 30 Dec 2017 at Toa Payoh Swimming Complex. Most Cymbals Played In A Lion Dance Performance

Over 70 troupes participated in the Singapore Dragon and Lion Dance Festival at Kreta Ayer Square on 1 Jan 2018. At the finale, the organisers invited 3 cymbal players from each group to line up in front of the stage. Together with the 10 dancing lions, the 190 cymbalists broke the record with their numbers and also probably for the loudest music ever played in a lion dance performance. Read More »

For its final-year project, 4 students from Republic Polytechnic’s Media Production and Design course teamed up with Nam Hong Welfare Service Society to help their elderly beneficiaries to have their portraits professionally taken. Vijayalaksmi Kannan’s new dance company, Manch Pte Ltd, presented a 4-hour dance and drama performance of Hasthinapuram. It is an adaptation from the ancient Indian epic, Mahabharatham. Wong Shoon Keat won Singapore’s first ever badminton gold at the 1983 SEA Games. To mark the 35th anniversary of his success which is yet to be equalled, his family organised a badminton rally to commemorate the 1983 figure. Largest Blood Drop Formation Made Of Pledge Stickers

Diabetes has become a serious health concern, with over 400,000 Singaporeans living with the disease. One in three Singaporeans has a lifetime risk of getting diabetes. To reinforce the message of diabetes prevention at its dinner on 17 Dec 2017, Elusyf Singapore got staff and guests to write a pledge against it on a round sticker. Teochew Federation (Singapore) & Ngee Ann Cultural Centre celebrated Dongzhi (winter solstice) together at the Teochew Building on 16 Dec 2017.
