The Bukit Batok Fiesta on 5 Jun 2016 held at Bukit Batok St 21 was also the launch of the ‘Community-With-A Heart’ welfare programme. Bengawan Solo sponsored a 1.2m by 2.2m marble cake for the SMC event and everyone present shared at least one slice of the scrumptious cake.

Largest Dessert Pizza

Pezzo Pizza, together with 70 children from Club Rainbow created a 1.95m-diameter dessert pizza at NUS Sheares Hall on 3 Jun 2016. It was topped with chocolate spread, caramelised bananas, marshmallows and heart-shaped sprinkles. For the month of June, Pezzo is selling a similar dessert pizza at all its 28 outlets with part of the sales proceeds going to Club Rainbow.

Most Number Of People Bouncing Basketballs Together

ActiveSG Basketball Academy was launched on 29 May 2016 at the Padang, Connaught Drive, to develop children and youths for the sport. Commencing in Sep, the academy will conduct basketball lessons at Choa Chu Kang, Clementi, Delta, Hougang, and Pasir Ris Sports Centres. To mark the launch, 2,180 people simultaneously bounced a basketball each for 5 min.

Most 100m Laps Covered On Wheelchair In 3 Hr

The focus of Citi Singapore’s Family Day & Global Community Day this year was to build awareness for disability sports and support the Singapore National Paralympic Council. Staff and their families gathered at Singapore Expo on 28 May 2016 and took part in sports activities suited to the disabled. More than 200 participants covered 295 laps of 100m on wheelchairs over 3 hours.

Singapore introduced the Area Licensing Scheme on 2 Jun 1975 whereby vehicles entering the Restricted Zone in the Central Business District, had to buy and display a S$3 daily licence or a S$60 monthly licence on their windscreens. The scheme was replaced by Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) in 1998.

25,550 balloons were used to build Singapore’s tallest balloon sculpture towering 15.5m from an Amazon jungle to a hot-air balloon at White Sands Mall. The maze-like jungle measured 14.2m by 6.3m.
