On 30 Aug 2014, Geylang Serai Constituency organised National Day Carnival for the residents at Ubi Ave 1. A sand art montage measuring 15.3m by 3m was displayed. Led by members of the Service Learning Club of East View Secondary School, almost 14,000 used clothes were collected from neighbouring homes over a period of one month. Students and teachers of the school also contributed their preloved clothes. Longest Dragon Dance Made Of Fabric Flowers
Chinatown’s Mid-Autumn Festival decorations in recent years had a different theme. This year carried a ‘blooming’ focus and flower lanterns were hung over 800m of Chinatown roads, made of silk cloth and steel wires.
