For two months, Park View Primary School rallied all students, teachers and other staff to collect used cardboard cores from toilet rolls and kitchen paper towels. The effort not only promoted environmental conservation, it brought out the creativity in all those taking part. 2,683 beautiful lanterns were created from the recycled tubes and they were displayed in time for the school’s Mid-Autumn Festival celebration on 27 Aug 2014.
