The Singapore-Kuala Lumpur route, with 30,537 flights, is the busiest international air link in the world. This is despite the fact that a flight between the two destinations lasts barely more than an hour. Flight data firm OAG determined the ranking by the frequency of flights – covering both directions of a route – between two cities from the start of Mar 2017 to the end of Feb 2018. The route carried 4 million passengers in the 12-month period
The second busiest route is Hong Kong-Taipei route with 28,887 flights and Jakarta-Singapore route with 27,304 flights. Eight of the world’s top 10 routes are between Asian cities.
