Largest Rangoli Made Of Drinking Straws

The IAEC of Geylang Serai CC organised a Deepavali dinner at Wisma Geylang Serai on 26 Nov 2023. Welcoming the diners was a rangoli made of 7,000 cut colourful drinking straws. The 3.1m-by-3.1m rangoli was made by the residents led by renowned artist Vijaya Mohan.

Most Bowls Of Braised Pork Rice Eaten In 15 Minutes

Feng Food is renowned for its braised pork rice and on 25 Nov 2023, it invited 8 guys to compete for the fastest eating of the Taiwanese dish. Each bowl was weighed to hold 300g of the food. Zermatt Neo was declared winner when he finished 20 bowls, or 6kg, at the end of 15 min.

Largest Rangoli Made Of Pistachio Shells

Hougang residents collected pistachio shells to make a rangoli for its Deepavali celebration. Led by artist Vijaya Mohan, the rangoli measured 4.4m by 2.7m and it depicted the festivals of the 4 main races in Singapore. The artwork was launched on 24 Nov 2023 at Hougang CC.

At the opening of Queenstown CC’s Hawkerfest, Tong Fong Fatt Hainanese Chicken Rice Stall prepared a 5.7-kg portion of their famous dish on a stainless steel plate measuring 1.2m in diameter. The food took up a diameter of 0.83m. National champion eater Zermatt Neo managed to finish the whole plate comfortable on 18 Nov 2023 at ABC Brickworks Food Centre.

Tallest Batik Installation

61 students from Jing Shan Primary School (Art and Crafts CCA) painted 121 black and white batik pieces. The pieces were sewn together to form a banner stretching from the first to the fourth level measuring 14.2m. The b&w artwork represents a harmonious balance that comes from simplicity and clarity.
