Students and staff of Catholic Junior College folded origami bricks with recycled paper. On the white bricks, they wrote words of hope for our nation to mark the 53rd National Day. The 2,240 bricks were assembled to form the map of Singapore, on 8 Aug 2018, measuring 3.94m by 2.72m.

Radin Mas CC had its National Day Observance Ceremony at its newly constructed building at Telok Blangah Crescent on 9 Aug 2018. Probably to symbolise its new beginnings, the grassroot leaders used eggs to create the 6m-by-9.1m Singapore flag. The 20,396 eggs were covered in red and white plastic casings.

West Coast Constituency’s National Day Dinner was held on 5 Aug 2018 at Nan Hua Primary School. Towards the end of the programme, everyone lit up 2 lightsticks for a mass dance. 1,850 people were counted to be dancing enthusiastically.

Largest Rock Wall Climbing Event

The Rock School trounced the previous record to accumulate 73,053m of total heights climbed in 7 hours. The climbing facility has 30 lanes of varying heights of 8m, 10m, and 13m. The event on 5 Aug 2018 was jointly organised with Sport Singapore and Our Tampines Hub, the locale’s owner.

Most Number Of Tote Bags With Written Pledges

The PA Women’s Integration Network Council organised a ‘Women for Climate Action’ roadshow at HDB Hub on 5 Aug 2018. Weeks earlier, the women’s committees at many CCs had drawn and written pledges to protect the environment on tote bags. 1,500 of the bags were given out to the public at the event.
