Tampines Swimming Complex celebrated its first anniversary at Our Tampines Hub with 210 people doing Aqua Tabata together on 12 Aug 2018. The event was organised by ActiveSG, the national movement to get more Singaporeans into sports. The 50-min Aqua Tabata session was led by ActiveSG instructors.

Students and staff of Catholic Junior College folded origami bricks with recycled paper. On the white bricks, they wrote words of hope for our nation to mark the 53rd National Day. The  2,240 bricks were assembled to form the map of Singapore,  on 8 Aug 2018, measuring  3.94m by 2.72m.

Radin Mas CC had its National Day Observance Ceremony at its newly constructed building at Telok Blangah Crescent on 9 Aug 2018. Probably to symbolise its new beginnings, the grassroot leaders used eggs to create the 6m-by-9.1m Singapore flag. The 20,396 eggs were covered in red and white plastic casings.
