Way before Changi Airport Terminal 5 is ready, a record was achieved in its workers’ dormitory on 1 May 2026. On this rest day, about 3 dozen migrant workers gathered in their hall to create a design incorporating the words ‘Happy Labour Day’ using packets of biscuits and flowers. The display measured 4.6m by 6.6m. The activity was initiated and led by rangoli artist Vijaya Mohan for dorm operator ED1 Services. The biscuits and portions of uncooked rice were distributed to the workers later.
