On 6 Jul 2013, Lee Kong Chian Gardens School (MINDS) marked Racial Harmony Day with their own celebration called HACCIMO Challenge. Students, parents, volunteers and guests gathered at the school hall to stitch up little pouches filled with green beans to make ‘stones’. The sewing experience was indeed fun for all 225 participants. At the end of the session, 300 sets of five stones were completed.

Electrolux launched Washing-thon in April 2013 by calling schools, corporate offices and Toa Payoh CCC to donate any unwanted clothes to them. 3,889 kg of clothes were gathered and laundered using Electrolux machines located at Toa Payoh Courts’ car park from 13 to 15 Jun 2013.
