Largest Lantern Made Of Bottle Caps

The Ang Mo Kio-Sengkang West Tree Planting Day was held by the Punggol River on 13 Nov 2016. For the first time, mangrove trees were planted on the river bank for this annual occasion. To promote environmental awareness, the YEC of Anchorvale CC built a lantern measuring 1.5m by 1.5m, and 1.6m high, with about 15,000 bottle caps.

The Mind-Mapping Festival kicked off with the unveiling of a mind map drawn by students from a number of schools on 13 Nov 2007 at SIM. The 10.3m x 14.6m map was the world’s largest, certified by Raymond Keene, International Arbiter of Mental World Records.

The fourth annual Purple Parade was held at Suntec City on 5 Nov 2016. It was a day to celebrate the abilities of people with special needs and to promote a more inclusive society. 5,000 cardboard purple hats were given out to all who turned up. However, in an audit of the people wearing the hats within a short time frame, the number came to 2,818.
