The Alpha Company of the SAF 35th Battalion Singapore Combat Engineers was enlisted on 20 Jan 1973 and trained at Seletar East Camp V in Jalan Kayu. The men completed their full-time service on 19 Jan 1975. 23 of them came together on 19 Jan 2023 to celebrate their 50th anniversary at SAFRA Toa Payoh Jubilee Restaurant.

Largest Sculpture Made Of Milk Cartons

The IAEC of Toa Payoh West CC celebrated Pongal on 4 Feb 2023, where residents had fun with traditional games and pot painting. There was even a huge ‘Pongal pot’ made of used milk cartons built by volunteers and collected from the Holy Tree Sri Balasubramaniar Temple. Largest Rangoli Made Of Ice-Cream Sticks

Kalamanjari was founded by Soundara Nayaki Vairavan to promote Tamil classical music. At Tekka Place on 21 Jan 2023, members of the organisation performed songs related to the works of 4 renowned Tamil scholars. In the background were the portraits of the scholars done by rangoli artists Sudhadevi and Rakshita using 26,000 ice-cream sticks. The display measured 5.8m by 4.7m.
