Throughout the Mid Autumn Festival held at the Singapore Expo on 18-20 Sep 2015, visitors could participate in painting lanterns under the guidance of batik artist Ika Zahri. Since late last year, Queenstown Commonwealth Ave Zone RC members have been getting residents to emboss their palmprints on clay tablets for its ‘Thousand Wishes for Singapore’, marking our country’s mid-century journey. Nostalgia filled the air at the Bishan East Mid-Autumn Celebrations. Residents could enjoy traditional snacks and games. Largest Display Of Lanterns Made Of Plastic Bottles
Keat Hong Constituency planned to provide its residents with lanterns for its Mid-Autumn Festival celebration. Grassroots leaders, together with a nearby school, collected used plastic drinking bottles and paint them into lanterns. 2,818 lanterns were lighted and stringed on 19 Sep 2015 outside Lam Soon CC in preparation of the celebration the next week.
