Students of St Joseph’s Institution celebrated the Tercentenary (300 years) of St John Baptist de la Salle’s death by putting their handprints on 7 canvas panels to form an artwork measuring 18.9m x 8m. Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC Youth Executive Committee members kickstarted the week-long school holidays with a family-based activity at Marsiling CC on 16 Mar 2019. Donning disposable aprons, hair caps and gloves, 205 participants had fun decorating the cakes together. Most cakes were decorated by two or three people. Frontier CC arranged with the nearby coffeeshops to help them collect tabs pulled out from drink cans. On 9 Mar 2019, at the International Women’s Day celebration, the organisers used the tabs to form the letters IWD, measuring 4.7m by 1.8m.
