The Ang Mo Kio GRC and Sengkang West SMC celebrated Deepavali at Punggol South Park on 13 Nov 2016. A few weeks earlier rangoli artist Vijaya Mohan conducted art workshops at 7 community centres, designing Indian motifs with cottonbuds. The Ang Mo Kio-Sengkang West Tree Planting Day was held by the Punggol River on 13 Nov 2016. For the first time, mangrove trees were planted on the river bank for this annual occasion. To promote environmental awareness, the YEC of Anchorvale CC built a lantern measuring 1.5m by 1.5m, and 1.6m high, with about 15,000 bottle caps. Read More »

Adam Bin Kamis lasted 92 hours 49 mins without sleep from 9-13 Nov 2011 in the movie-watching challenge, organised by Nescafe Frappe at Nex Shopping Mall. He won the top cash prize of $10,000. The fourth annual Purple Parade was held at Suntec City on 5 Nov 2016. It was a day to celebrate the abilities of people with special needs and to promote a more inclusive society. 5,000 cardboard purple hats were given out to all who turned up.
