For about two weeks, Fajar Secondary School collected donations from staff and students towards the financial needy students, with a preference for 20-cent coins. $10,000 were collected of which $3,119 were in 20-cents coins. On 19 Oct 2012, at the school’s open house for primary six students who had finished their PSLE, the 15,595 pieces of 20-cent coins were arranged to form a picture of Singapore’s latest iconic attraction, the Gardens By The Bay.
