Largest Display Of Origami Orchids

Woodgrove constituency celebrated Racial Harmony and Community Sports Day at Woodlands Mega Sports Park on 23 Jul 2017. The event saw an art installation of 10,000 multi-coloured origami orchids hung from a metal scaffolding. The different colours were to represent the multi-racial society in Singapore. The origami orchids were folded by residents and participants at Pacific Activity Centres.

On 22 Jul 2017, Keat Hong CC WEC held its 14th and largest sandwich-making competition. With 2 people per team, 193 students – from 50 primary and secondary schools – had an hour to whip up 2 sandwich creations at the new Keat Hong CC hall. At the open-air area just outside the hall, contestants had the use of the stoves and toasters.

To mark the 50th anniversary of signals training, about 300 personnel from the Signal Institute personnel did 201,070 lunges continually for 30 min. Later that day on 21 Jul 2017, the Singapore record certificate was placed with other significant objects in a time capsule and buried at Stagmont Camp.

500 people dined at the longest table that broke the world record. Race Course Road was closed on 23 Jul 2011 to accommodate the 0.9m by 160.0m table, constructed as a single continuous piece by staff of Seagull Marine and Yusen Design & Contract. The event was part of the Food Festival organised by the Indian Restaurants Association (Singapore).
