Tanglin Community Club celebrated Pongalo Ponggal, an Indian harvest festival, on 21 Jan 2017. Other than the usual tradition of rice boiling, there was a huge 10m-diameter rangoli made of rice. Bukit Panjang’s 10th Pongal Festival featured, for the first time in Singapore, an 18.8m dragon dance made of cloth-and-wire pongal pots slithering to the beat of traditional Indian music.
