Hong Kah North CC involved its residents and students of Westwood Secondary School to make 25,000 loom bands or rubber band bracelets to raise funds for its $100,000 Pioneer Generation Fund. At the launch of the fund on 8 Feb 2015, the bracelets, which were weaved with a metal SG50 accessory and wrapped in plastic, were displayed in the shape of the SG50 logo. It measured 3.5m in diameter. More than 2,000 people were involved over six months to make the loom bands which would be sold for $2 each.
