Largest Gathering Of People Holding Lighted Candles

Blossom World Society organised a National Day celebration called ‘Youths Love Singapore’ on 17 Aug 2013 at the Marina Bay Promontory. The highlight of the gathering was the lighting up of candles when 3,868 participants sang ‘Count on me Singapore’. National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan lighted the first candle and pass on the flame.

All students at Radin Mas Primary School were asked to fold an A4 paper and cut a human figure. On the morning of 7 Aug 2013, the paper doll cuttings were combined to form a chain measuring 738m. The paper dolls with joined hands symbolised social harmony and togetherness to mark the forthcoming National Day.

Largest Amount Of Clothes Collected and Washed At One Location

Electrolux launched Washing-thon in April 2013 by calling schools, corporate offices and Toa Payoh CCC to donate any unwanted clothes to them. 3,889 kg of clothes were gathered and laundered using Electrolux machines located at Toa Payoh Courts’ car park from 13 to 15 Jun 2013. The public could also donate clothes during the 3 days.
