On 17 Jun 2014, Royal Plaza on Scotts presented a 30m long bread and butter pudding baked by a team of 32 chefs. The team used 150 loaves of white bread, 220 litres of cream, 75 kg of whole eggs and 80 litres of milk, and spent 55 hours baking it. The event raised funds for Metta Preschool @ Punggol, a beneficiary of Community Chest. 3,000 portions of the pudding were given out to the public, and in exchange, guests were encouraged to donate to the charity. The record feat was also to commemorate the hotel’s 40th anniversary this year.
