AWWA gathered many of its volunteers together for its Appreciation Day on 23 May 2015 at Vivocity. The event theme was the national flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim, which symbolises the resilience of the volunteers. Most Languages Sung For The ‘Happy Birthday’ Song

FMC Technologies celebrated its 40th anniversary on 22 May 2015 by hosting a lunch for its 3,000 staff at Suntec Convention Centre. Like a usual birthday party, everyone was invited to sing the ‘Happy Birthday’ song before the cake-cutting ceremony. However, this song was sung in 15 different languages led by 15 people on the stage.

Tampines East Community Centre marked the Indian New Year with a mini-carnival on 23 May 2015. At the event, members of the Indian Activity Executive Committee, together with residents, formed a collage of plastic plates measuring 4.1m by 4.8m. A total of 378 plates were used.

Largest Display Of Figurines Using Recycled Materials

Endeavour Primary School students learned the art and science of recycling by creating their own version of robot-like figurines strictly from recyclable materials. They were taught to reduce, reuse and recycle to commemorate Earth Day. Some of the figurines displayed were equipped with LED lights and had movable parts. A total of 168 figurines were counted on 22 May 2015.
