World Water Day was celebrated on 15 Mar 2014 at the Lorong 40 Geylang playground. A roadshow was put up with games and performances promoting the importance of water conservation. A favorite activity at the site was the painting of a huge 1.2m by 2.4m cartoon designed by local cartoonist Peter Loh, showing the improbable but humorous consequence of the earth running out of water. 160 people were all smiles taking turns to paint the picture.
