On 20 Apr 2013, members of Bukit Panjang IAEC, with the help of volunteers from Tank Road temple, spent a few hours drawing 1,100 intricate designed kolams at the community centre’s sports court. Rice powder and water were used to draw the kolams. The drawing of the kolams was part of Bukit Panjang constituency’s Tamil New Year celebration.
