To expose Singaporeans to the Tamils’ Pongal festival, Vijayalakshmi Mohan conducted art workshops with a number of elderly groups and kindergartens using scratch boards. The boards were covered in black paint and on scratching, a very colourful base layer was revealed. 1,010 pieces of the completed artwork were displayed at Tekka Place on 30 Jan 2010. The event was co-organised with Little India Shopkeepers and Heritage Association.
