Clementi Town Secondary School organised its annual cross-country run at Japanese Garden on 5 Aug 2015. 1,085 participants ran 200m barefoot before completing the 3.3-km route with their shoes on. National Day dinner for residents of Pasir Ris-Punggol was held at Punggol Central on 8 Aug 2015. To make this a unique experience, everyone present were encouraged to put on the SG50 temporary tattoo stickers. Juying Primary School students collected grocery poly bags, cut them into triangles and decorated them with the SG50 theme. MINDS – Lee Kong Chian Gardens School celebrated Racial Harmony Day on 1 Aug 2015. Many students, staff, volunteers and guests participated in folding as many origami tulips as they could in one hour. They not only managed to fold 5,670 origami tulips, they also managed to arrange them neatly on foam boards and make the stage look almost like a garden.
