First Full Length Singapore Movie Screened At The UN Association Film Festival

Under the Turban, produced by husband-and-wife duo, Satinder Garcha and Harpreet Bedi, was chosen from 700 entries to make its world premiere at the 19th UN Association Film Festival on 20 Oct 2016. They’re the first Singaporeans to have a feature-length work screened at one of the oldest documentary festivals in the US.

The film came about after the couple’s young daughter Zara questioned them about what it meant to be Sikh. And so they began to explore first-hand accounts and academic insights into Sikhism. Plans are in the pipeline to screen the documentary for the public in Singapore.
