On 16 Aug 2014, 108 people living around Ubi Ave 1 came down to the RC to participate in the painting of a Chinese lantern. Outlines were drawn on the cloths wrapped around bamboo frames and residents, from kids to grannies merrily filled in the details. The 2.4m high and 1.8m wide lantern was unveiled at the Geylang Serai National Day cum Mid-Autumn Festival celebration on 30 Aug 2014 at Ubi Ave 1.
