Marsiling IAEC celebrated the Tamil Pongal Festival on 29 Jan 2012. Over 200 volunteers from Republic Polytechnic and 9 other schools in the district gathered at Si Ling Secondary School to make a rangoli using 3.5 tons of beads in 6 colours. The beads were made from recomposed wheat husks. The overall artwork, depicting the Pongal theme, measured 15.05m by 25.07m.
