In its plan to create a rooftop garden, Cantonment Primary School has one wall covered with used plastic bottles to hold plants. It even has an automatic watering system built by volunteers. On 6 Aug 2015, at the school’s National Day celebration, 2050 bottles with thriving plants were officially counted. The wall also serves as a memorial to Lee Kuan Yew, who had always strived for Singapore to be a garden city.
