People Association’s public mass singing event was back for the second time on 26 Oct 2013. For the launch of PAssionArts Singing Festival, 2,260 residents from all over Singapore came down to the Kallang River at Boon Keng to belt out 40 familiar favourites. A 100-strong choir from Bendemeer Secondary School, popular singers and Mediacorp’s DJs formed the core voices, accompanied by a 4-piece jazz band.
Participants with songbooks and lighted wands sat on benches on both sides of the river as well as the connecting bridge. Ten boats plying up and down the river were also occupied by emcees and singers.
