Residents who turned up at Telok Kurau Park to mark Joo Chiat Constituency’s Mid Autumn Festival on 17 Sep 2016 got to enjoy free lanterns, mooncakes, pomeloes and activities related to the festival. Many tried their hands at Chinese calligraphy writing the word 如切 (Joo Chiat). The pieces of writings were arranged as a collage measuring 2.9m by 9.9m to break the existing record. Renowned calligrapher Tan Khim Ser completed the collage with a couplet at both ends.
