Sue Yin’s love for numbers also saw her achieving distinctions in mathematics from a young age. She represented CMA Singapore for numerous National and International Olympiads and won in various categories. She even represented her primary school in the Raffles Girls’ School (Secondary) Mathematics and Science Challenge and achieved 5th Individual Placing.

CMA’s dual-hand abacus methodology at a young age proved to enhance the development of both hemispheres in a cerebrum, commonly known as the left and right brains. The left is responsible for linguistic and mathematical abilities whereas the right is for artistic and creative qualities. These saw Sue Yin as holistically inclined when she was offered a third language, Malay Special Programme and received the Ministry of Education Chinese Language Elective Scholarship. She proved to be an all-rounder when she attained full distinctions in 12 subjects and received the Principal’s Congratulatory Letter. She became a member of the Crestar Dance Group, even receiving its Dance Scholarship.
