First Woman To Cross The Empty Quarters

First Woman To Cross The Empty Quarters

Hajar Ali drove successfully from Al Ain (near Abu Dhabi) to Salalah across the Empty Quarters, among the harshest deserts in the world. The desert lies over Oman, Yemen and Saudi Arabia.  The legendary Lawrence of Arabia once described the desert as impassable. From 23 Mar to 28 Mar 2012, Hajar battled intense heat, sandstorms and soft sands to go where no Singaporeans had gone before.
