At National Kidney Foundation Sit-A-Thon event held on 28 Jul 2013 at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza, 1,350 participants played shakers accompanied by drums and percussion played by Temasek Polytechnic students. Participants were encouraged to strap one of their hands to their seats with rubber bands while playing the shakers. By doing so, the organisers hoped to raise public awareness on kidney disease and what kidney patients go through during dialysis.
