On 30 Aug 2014, Geylang Serai Constituency organised National Day Carnival for the residents at Ubi Ave 1. A sand art montage measuring 15.3m by 3m was displayed. It was such a colourful sight that many could not resist taking pictures with the montage as their backdrop. The montage consisted of 720 pieces of 10-by-10-inch sand-pasted pictures created by residents prior to the event.
