This year, the Girl Guides movement celebrates its 100th year in Singapore. About half of its 9,000 members, including the Brownies from the primary schools, turned up at Botanic Gardens for its centennial picnic and show on 4 Mar 2017. 3,780 participated in the mass breakfast despite a light drizzle. They also commemorated the World Thinking Day, a day to render thoughts about people in other countries.
