Launched in Paris 25 years ago, Dîner en Blanc now assembles over 30,000 people each year in 14 cities in Europe and North America. It is a gathering where diners are dressed in elegant white and bring their own table, chairs, food, picnic ware and trash bags to clean up their stuff after the dinner. On 30 Aug 2012, Singapore is the first city in Asia to organise the Diner en Blanc.
Adding to the mystery of the event, participants are only informed of the location one-and-half hour before it happens. 808 people converged at the Arts Science Museum at Marina Bay Sands for this all-white dinner.
