At first it seemed like a herculean task to get over a thousand non-musicians to play a piece of music harmoniously together. However 1,563 people played the handbells together in a well coordinated ‘Heal The World’ piece. Two well-trained school handbell orchestras played the melody and members of the audience played their respective parts when the 3-note chords were flashed on the stage backdrop. About a third of these participants were from special education schools. The event was organised by Extraordinary People Ltd on 15 Nov 2023 at NUS University Cultural Centre and coordinated by Ministry of Bellz.
