Ocean Sole, an African social enterprise, organises poor Kenyans to collect, wash, and cut used flip-flops turning them into colourful products for sale. Since it started in 2005, several million discarded footwear had been removed from the beaches. The group exhibited their crafts at United Square on 23 Mar 2019 and the mall shoppers helped to create a 2.4m by 3.7m collage using 785 flip-flops.
