Tanglin Community Club celebrated Pongalo Ponggal, an Indian harvest festival, on 21 Jan 2017. Other than the usual tradition of rice boiling, there was a huge 10m-diameter rangoli made of rice. IAEC members of Tanglin CC and Pek Kio CC, together with Farrer Park RC members took 2 days to colour and arrange the rice into a design. The 400-kg rice had passed its expiry date and was unfit for consumption.
