Darrshan Raj snagged the record of the youngest Singaporean to reach Mount Everest Base Camp with father, Thurairajasingam, on 14 Jun 2019 at 1.40pm Nepal time. At just 8 years 11 months, the Primary 3 boy from Yio Chu Kang Primary School spent his after-school hours for the past 1 year at The Right Fit, a boutique gym owned by his father, to prepare himself physically and mentally for this expedition. Darrshan trekked for 7 long gruelling days to reach Base Camp and 3 days for the walk down to Lukla before flying back home, delighted with the accomplishment.
