Qixi Festival was popularly celebrated in Singapore before the war. Bridging Generations Pte Ltd attempted to revive the tradition based on the Chinese myth about a magpie bridge connecting the weaver girl and the cowherd on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. Volunteers painstakingly crocheted 471 magpie plushes by 19 Aug 2023 and they were displayed at the Smith Street event area.
