On 6 Apr 2018, a team of 9 riders set off on a charity expedition from Singapore to Penang, riding on 4 scooters with sidecars along with two support vehicles, to raise funds for cancer research. They arrived on 8 Apr, 72 hours later, having gone through kampungs, padi fields, highways and mountains, overcoming sidecar breakdowns and the occasional poor weather. They were greeted by 40 riders from Penang’s Harley and Vespa groups, who then escorted the team over Penang Bridge. The 839-km road trip was organised by Triquetra which runs a Vespa sidecar tour service.
