Global Indian International School (GIIS) Balestier Campus celebrated Singapore’s 48th birthday on 7 Aug 2013 when a wall collage ‘Recycled Creation: Art meets French language’ was unveiled. The 1.96m square picture was created using approximately 13,000 plastic bread tags. The display, depicting national and cultural symbols of Singapore and France, were collected by students over a period of 4 months. French is offered in the school as a second or third language and some of these students were the ones to stick the bread tags together.
